Royaldown Garden Village presents a forward-thinking masterplan for a new community shaped around climate resilience, modern lifestyles, and zero-carbon living. Located in a naturally sheltered dry valley to the south-west of Winchester, the development responds intelligently to its topography—minimising visual impact, avoiding flood risk, and working with the landscape to create a contained, human-scale settlement.

The vision goes beyond housing to offer a blueprint for how we will live in the future. Localised renewable energy generation, including solar farms, ground source heat pumps, and integrated battery storage, will enable the village to be energy self-sufficient. Every home is equipped for electric vehicle charging and supports smart technologies, while community-scale infrastructure reduces carbon use across travel, utilities, and daily life.

A total of around 3,500 new homes are planned, alongside employment land, schools, health facilities, and a 200-acre country park—all within walkable neighbourhoods designed to support home-working, local services, and low-carbon travel. With high-speed broadband, dedicated cycle links, and a proposed park-and-ride hub, Royaldown is a model for 21st-century living that prioritises well-being, biodiversity, and meaningful community.
