In 2017, outline planning consent was granted for 915 new homes on a sensitive and strategically important site in North Taunton. Working in partnership with the land promoter, landowners—including the National Trust—and the local authority, a comprehensive Framework Plan and Development Brief was developed and formally endorsed by Taunton Deane Borough Council.

The masterplan was shaped through successful public consultation, place branding, and stakeholder engagement, addressing a range of site-specific constraints. The approved scheme includes a mix of houses and apartments, a primary school, a local centre, employment uses, and a robust green infrastructure strategy—laying the groundwork for a well-connected and sustainable new community.
